Rumor had it that odd sounds could be heard coming from somewhere in the frozen wilderness that surrounded their city. Rumor also had it that it was from a vicious beast that devoured children for breakfast. And yet, she wasn’t worried in the least. After all, hearsay should only ever be taken so seriously. It was, however, becoming increasingly clear that they had to be based in truth somehow, as new report kept coming in, one after the other. No one had seen anything. Yet. She definitely planned on solving that mystery. And soon. Matuu had said something about curiosity and cats, but they all knew this wasn’t going to stop her. If it hadn’t stopped her tumbling her way into the Ice Fields when she was nothing but a youngling, it sure wasn’t going to stop her now. He could only hope that she had more than one life too if she insisted on shoving her nose everywhere. It was early in the morning when I found myself running out the door. I took a brief moment to smell the fresh morning air before wheeling around towards the door. “Afina hurry up! Before too many people show up!” I call with impatient excitement. “Yeah, yeah I know,” She yawns walking out the door of their library home, taping me on the shoulder, “By the way, the door is this way.” She nudges me slightly to the right. “Oh, my bad” I chuckle, turning to follow closely beside Afina. Afina was against going to the festivale as my blind condition causes me to easily get lost in crowds, but I was able to persuade her to go on the condition we went early in the morning when there were less people. Upon arriving I was hit with so many different smells and sounds at once. Fresh baked goods, large pine and spruce trees for decorating, singing and dancing, laughing and cheering. It was all I could have dreamed and more! “Is it really that exciting?” Afina questions my overexcited
